All singing, all dancing…

The London Starlings

Brought together in early 2013, the London Starlings are one of the top chorus line and solo jazz troupes in Europe, specialising in vernacular jazz dances from the 1920s – 1940s, including Charleston and tap. The Starlings are inspired by the African American chorus dancers of the Harlem Renaissance and the British chorus lines of the early 1900s.

Our team has consisted of dancers from all over the world. For the time that London is our home we gather to dance, like starlings travelling from far and wide to create a super flock.

Lady and the Tramp

Taking the premise of themes for movies, musicals and television shows as a foundation, we aim for an eclectic mix of songs you probably wouldn’t normally hear played live in a pub. We pick whichever combination of instruments we have to hand to work out the arrangements on in what we can most optimistically summarise as “cinematic musical cabaret”. The costumes are an equal, if not more important, part to the gig. In fact, the whole endeavour may just be an excuse for us to dress up.

Hartwood

Hartwood are a three piece acoustic pop-folk trio specialising in 3-part harmonies.Playing folk, pop and country covers from across the decades including the likes of the The Staves, Bee Gees and Ray LaMontagne (and of course, some Disney classics!).

Jess is joined on stage with her sister Sophie and brother-in-law Tim in a variable lineup of instrumentation shared between them.

Electric Umbrella

At Electric Umbrella we create amazing, live interactive music experiences with learning disabled people, and when our superstars take to the stage, they help change the way the world looks at them - and others.

When you’re part of Electric Umbrella, the stage is always set, the lights are bright, and the show is always on.  Everyone in our community has the opportunity to work with professional musicians, to co-produce extraordinary performances.

Our community of more than 2,000 people take part in a range of co-created sessions with our brilliant professional musicians, which are free to attend. These include EUTV, Open Mic nights, our Singalongs, and the Breakfast Club. Many also choose to become paid Electric Umbrella members, enjoying our programme of small, personalised workshops.

When we come together, the power of performance comes to life spectacularly through our Big Yellow Choir, albums, live shows, festivals and tours in front of tens of thousands of people each year!

We also deliver specialist live music experiences for hundreds of SEND schools across the UK, and offer mainstream schools unique tour visits with our member ambassadors, all part of our mission to make the world a little more, ‘Electric Umbrella’.

Music can have a magical, inspiring impact, and yes, it really does change the lives of those in our community. We are helping to combat social isolation, but it’s about far more than that.

At Electric Umbrella it is about achieving extraordinary things together - the performance of your life.
